BCB COVID 19 Survival Pack

COVID Pack 3

At the beginning of the Coronavirus outbreak it became very difficult to get hold of some of the most basic items of protection, so when I saw this pack advertised on Preppershop.co.uk for £24.99 I thought it would be ideal to get hold of some masks which were either unavailable elsewhere or were going for silly money. Unfortunately there appears to be a difference between what was advertised on the website and what actually came in the pack.

The picture used on the website. Note there are five masks pictured. I received one mask.

The website states that the pack contains masks, coin towels and foil blankets (all multiple). The contents lists supplied with the pack shows there to be only 1 mask, 1 coin towel and 1 foil blanket. I received only one of each item. The photograph of the contents does show five masks and this was one of the main reasons I ordered the pack.

There is of course the small print disclaimer that the contents may differ. I would take that to mean that if an item was not available from one supplier as shown it would be replaced with a similar item from another supplier (e.g. the branded hand sanitiser was a different brand than shown but was still hand sanitiser). I would not expect to find most of the contents missing and the pack padded out with storage bags as this seemed to be. Unfortunately with a better price to be had for face masks it appears they have been cut back here, possibly so they can be sold in bulk.

The quality of the case and the contents was reasonably good and makes a decent starter pack which can be supplemented with supplies from elsewhere as they become available, but to be honest with face masks and hand sanitiser now back on the shelves you could assemble your own kit for perhaps half the price.

I did contact Preppers shop by email twice regarding this and obtained no response. I then posted a review of the product on their website. Reviews are moderated and it was never published. Even allowing for the current situation I think two months is long enough to respond to a customer complaint and I wouldn’t like others to be as disappointed as I was. The lack of response means I would be wary of ordering from them again.
