As you may know I am one of the members of the North Lanarkshire Council Access Forum, where I represent the rights of “land users” (walkers, cyclists, anglers, etc). The 2012 Annual General Meeting will be taking place on Tuesday 1st May at at the One Wellwynd Centre in Airdrie, from 6pm to 8pm.
This year there will be a guest speaker, author of Ribbon of Wildness Peter Wright MBE, who will no doubt be discussing his walks along the watershed of Scotland, which runs right through North Lanarkshire. Hopefully some of you can come along, the Access Forum is looking for new members, to represent land users, community groups and land managers. I personally would like to see a full complement of land user representatives on the forum to ensure that we have a stronger voice when discussing access issues.
