Following on from the “consultation meetings” earlier this year, Your Energy will be holding a series of public information meetings next week to present the final designs for the proposed 11 turbine windfarm on the moss just north of Caldercruix. I was out there running on Monday, and the views to the north were stunning, Ben Ledi, Ben Vorlich and Stuc a’ Chroin all visible above a sea of cloud.
Questions which you may wish to consider may perhaps include:
Where will the water displaced by the road infrastructure go to? (Clue: it’s downhill from the moss…)
How many long term jobs will this create in the local community?
What benefits are there to the local community? (At the previous meetings a ‘community fund was mentioned. The sums mentioned at the initial meeting were pitifully small (around the £1000 mark per year).
These turbines are just some of a total of 40 turbines proposed in the area, in addition to those already in place.
