Airdrie Rights Of Way Walk 2: 11th June 2011

The Lilly Loch from the old mining bings near BlackhillFollowing on from a successful walk in November 2010 I will be leading another “Rights of Way Walk” in the Blackhill area on Saturday 11th June 2011. The route for the day will take in rights of way, proposed core paths and other areas in between.

The walk will depart from the car park at Caldercruix Railway Station at 0915hrs. The group will then head over the hills to Annieshill, on to Wester Bracco, before ascending to the view point at Black Hill, where views can often be had of Arran, The Pentlands, Ben Lawers and Tinto. We will return via the Lilly Loch and the newly relayed right of way from Hillend to Caldercruix. The distance covered is around 6 miles.

The walk is open to anyone, although under 18’s must be accompanied. You should be fit, have good footwear and carry sufficient clothing and equipment for a day on exposed moorland and hills. Fingers crossed, sun cream will be required!

If you wish to take part please email or call 07988 849 428. Please do contact me beforehand to give me some idea of numbers attending.
