Right of way walk- timings and travel

The Lilly Loch from Alice Hill

I’ve been working on the route and there are a few options available, including purely rights of way, rights of way and the new ‘Core Paths’, or probably my preferred option- Rights of way, core paths and the nice bits in between!

Most routes seem to be around the nine to ten mile mark, give or take, and a decent pace would be a bit below Naismiths three mile an hour mark, the object being to travel over local paths, meeting new folk and perhaps a bit of banter as well. Throw in a possible stop for tea at a nice country pub and it should be a decent half days walking, weather being kind. For anyone who fancies a shorter walk you could always join us at Salsburgh and catch a bus at Caldercruix.

If you are unsure about transport and are travelling by bus you can always check out Traveline for public transport times.
